My Favorite Day Of The Year

Nah, not Valentines' Day. My significant other is a dog, and he doesn't get the deal with such things. I'm talking about the day pitchers and catchers report to spring training. This is the day when my angst-meter is reset, and I look at all the moves the team made during the off-season with optimism and rose-colored glasses. Today is the day when my well trodden-on heart overflows with the notion that my Giants can go 162 and O during the regular season, and then 11-0 in the post-season.
Of course, once the emotion and the THC wears off, I get realistic. But for now, I love everyone on the 40 man roster, and the main one who isn't "officially", Barry Bonds. I had a rough fall and winter, and nothing says "renewal of Spring, and with it hope" like the official beginning of the baseball year.

For the Red Sox, that day is Friday. It's 15 degrees here in NYC, and my mind is squarely focused on the 2007 baseball season. Good luck to your Giants, Ken. Bring it on!!

John, I think the Giants and the Sox have a series this year. That should be a blast.

50 degrees here. Sorry.

June 15-17 at Fenway Park: Red Sox vs. Giants. Barry Bonds travels to that "terrible bastion of racial intolerance", Boston, MA, for the first time. And the Sox fans will be waiting for him.

A blast? Absolutely! Shall make some kind of wager, Ken, when that series approaches?

As you know, I'm between jobs right now so I can't afford it. I should be employed by then if you're set on cash.

Otherwise, we could humiliate each other by the loser having to wear the other team's cap or gear at their respective pub quizzes ;)

That last idea about the pub quizzes has possibilites Ken...I certainly understand not betting any cash, that's fine. We'll see what happens...
